Lakeside Health Institute was founded to make high-quality healthcare education accessible, especially in underserved communities. Our founder, a Registered Nurse (RN) who began her journey as a CNA and LPN, along with experience as a CPR instructor and clinical research professional, built the school to overcome the barriers students face, offering flexible, tech-forward education.
Lakeside Health Institute was established as more than just a school, it is a mission-driven institution designed to create meaningful change in the lives of aspiring healthcare professionals. The vision behind its founding stems from a deep commitment to increasing access to quality healthcare education, particularly for those from underserved backgrounds. The founder of Lakeside Health Institute began her healthcare career as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and advanced to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Registered Nurse (RN), CPR instructor, and clinical research professional.
Through these experiences, she witnessed firsthand the barriers many aspiring healthcare professionals face, such as financial limitations, limited access to resources, and inflexible program structures. Guided by advanced education at the master’s level in nursing, she established Lakeside Health Institute to create accessible, modern pathways into the healthcare workforce while preparing compassionate and highly skilled professionals to serve their communities.
Lakeside Health Institute is not only focused on access and equity, but also on modernizing the nursing school experience. With the needs of adult learners and working individuals in mind, the institute offers hybrid and accelerated program options. These flexible formats integrate technology, virtual simulation, and streamlined pathways to help students advance their careers without compromising quality or hands-on learning.
This comprehensive program blends online theory instruction with hands-on lab training, clinical experiences, and virtual simulations, ensuring students develop both the knowledge and real-world skills required in today’s healthcare environment.
The curriculum is delivered across four structured terms and is fully approved by the Illinois Board of Higher Education (IBHE) and the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR). Students will gain competency in essential nursing areas including fundamentals of nursing, pharmacology, medical-surgical nursing, maternal and pediatric care, mental health, and NCLEX preparation.

Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are eligible to sit for the NCLEX-PN® licensure examination, the national board exam required to become a Licensed Practical Nurse.
At Lakeside Health Institute, we are committed to preparing confident, competent, and compassionate nurses who are ready to meet the demands of the healthcare field.
